So as you may or may not know I got a Katten. He's not really a kitten anymore nor is he a cat...Therefore you get Cattens!! But I dilike 'C's...Sooo Katten!!

Anyway, He's been doing really good out side of his climbing the screen and runing between our legs. We're getting that to stop thogh. My main point and where I need help is here. Bowie (that's his name) use to use his litterbox verywell, barely EVER had an accident. But lately he won't use it unless I take him down there and I keep him in there until he goes. He was doing pretty good with that and so this morning when he started scratching around I said okay I believe in him and that he can do this and went up stairs so make something to eat. I went down stairs like 3 or 4 minuted later and when he saw me he ran and I found a nice big Katten dump on the floor. He's been doing that (pooing on the floor and peeing on the bottom stair) for about a week now. The first time like 1 and a half weeks ago I thought it was because the box was kinda dirty and he used it after I cleaned it for about two days and stated going on the floor. Once I find out about it I have to beat his butt, and we thought that he would understand that he's getting beat for this so he should stop doing it. but lately he's just taking the beatings and still doing it.

I don't know what to do about this, please help.
Me and a couple friends thinks he may be afraid of the box but i don't know why he would be. But the first time I took him down there he started trying to climb my shoulder and get away but I thought "he just thinks he's getting a bath" and then he started shaking when I put him in the box, he had his tail curled under him and everything. I picked him up and started petting him untill he started purring again and placed him in the box and kept petting him. That worked atleast. But I have to Stay with him for that to work and I'm not home all the time to keep and eye on him like that. Do you have any idea of what we should do?
